Preparing International Staff for Real Arctic Work Conditions

Arctic Survival Training Finland provides specialized training programs for foreign professionals working in Finnish Lapland during the winter season including safari guides, maintenance staff, and other outdoor personnel. Our goal is to ensure that every participant arrives well-prepared, confident, and capable of working safely in extreme cold-weather conditions.

Our service consists of two complementary parts:

1. Pre-Arrival Online Orientation

Before arriving in Finland, participants take part in a remote training session focused on clothing, equipment, and personal preparation for Arctic work. The course covers essential topics such as layering systems, thermal management, cold-weather safety, and how to select and maintain the right gear. This orientation helps participants arrive ready for the environment, not surprised by it.

2. On-Site Practical Training in Lapland

Once in Finland, participants receive hands-on instruction in real Arctic conditions. The training takes place outdoors and includes practical exercises in movement, work safety, and survival awareness in sub-zero environments. Guided by experienced instructors, trainees learn how to work efficiently and adapt to the unique challenges of the northern climate.

Together, these programs form a complete readiness package designed to improve safety, performance, and confidence for all professionals working in Lapland’s demanding winter environment.
